Story Submissions by Email

This website may invite visitors to submit personal stories, reflections, or written contributions by email for possible publication on the blog or elsewhere on Life After Being Sectioned.

Submitting a story by email does not guarantee that it will be published. I may contact you by email to discuss your submission, ask questions, suggest edits, or request your consent before publishing.

If your story is published, I will only publish it using the name, initials, pseudonym, or anonymous credit agreed with you. You can ask for identifying details to be removed or changed before publication.

Please avoid including personal information about other people in your submission unless you have their permission, or unless those details have been changed or removed to protect their privacy.

I may keep a copy of your submission and related email correspondence for editorial, record-keeping, safeguarding, or administrative purposes. You can contact me if you would like to request that your unpublished submission is deleted.

The Recovery Room Members Area

Life After Being Sectioned includes a free members-only area called The Recovery Room.

When you sign up for The Recovery Room, I may collect and store personal information such as your name, email address, membership status, and information connected to your use of the members area, such as which resources you access or download.

I collect this information so that I can:

  • provide access to protected PDF resources;

  • understand who is using the resources;

  • keep the resources safe and protected;

  • improve the website and create more useful support materials;

  • contact you about your membership or access if needed.

Membership of The Recovery Room is free. I do not sell your personal information.

The website is hosted by Squarespace, which may process your information on my behalf in order to provide website, membership, analytics, email, and security services.

Signing up to The Recovery Room does not automatically mean you have signed up to receive marketing emails, unless you separately choose to join the mailing list or give consent to receive updates.
